About Your New Clinic

Our great Mortdale clinic is a 100% small animal practice, we see mainly dogs and cats but will see the occasional exotic. The team consists of 4 Vets, 7 Nurses and Practice Manager. We have a good client base with regular and loyal clientele. We also work with local WIRES carers when the general public bring in possums and birds. Mortdale is a busy practice with exposure to a variety of medical and surgical cases. We have a visiting orthopaedic surgeon for cruciate and patella surgeries. Be part of a strong network of vets, known for practicing gold standards of care. We love brainstorming over cases and coming up with tailored treatment plans for each patient.

The clinic is well-equipped with Rx works software, digital x-ray, ultrasound, iM3 Elite Dental suite, Dental X-ray, laser machine, full internal lab to run CBC, electrolytes and biochemistry, multiparameter monitoring devices, blood pressure monitoring, separate dog, cat and isolation wards, full surgical suite and more.

Your New Role

  • Case variety, working at a busy GP practice with an opportunity to also work at our new sister clinic within close proximity to the Mortdale practice
  • Support of experienced leadership Team with a Vet Director & Practice Manager
  • Support of experienced and qualified Team of Nurses
  • Strong mentorship available for recent grad/new grad
  • Mentor opportunities available for Senior Vet Associates
  • Weekends of rotation
  • Our sister is clinic open shorter hours that may suit a working parent or someone after more flexible work hours

    Mortdale is close to public transport, with the practice only within 2 minutes to the train station. We are within the main shopping village of Mortdale, with a lot of other local businesses around and there are plenty of options to get your caffeine fix for the day. All the local cafes and restaurants serve great food and you will never go hungry here. We are only about 20 minutes from Cronulla, a very popular area of Sydney, with lovely beaches and restaurants to visit after work. Plenty of dog friendly parks and exercise areas. This family friendly suburb is well served with schools, shops and facilities. Rail and transport links are good, and you are only a few minutes’ drive from the huge Royal National Park with its forests, waterfalls and beaches.     About Your Skills & Experience

  • 2 or more years of experience
  • New grads or recent grads encouraged to apply
  • Driven to providing exceptional pet care services
  • Strong communication skills, and great at building long term client relationships
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and under pressure
  • Registered or be eligible for veterinary registration in Australia
