  • Established in 1972 Mitolo Family Farms is a successful and dynamic family owned business supplying potatoes and onions for sale in major Australian supermarket chains and produce markets nationally.     You will be responsible for assisting with all facets of ground preparation and inter row cultivation of high quality potatoes. You will be highly motivated, enthusiastic and display a keen interest and willingness to learn large scale vegetable cropping. You will enjoy a wide variety of tasks including basic mechanical, forklift driving, irrigation, harvesting and spraying. You will work as part of a small and successful team and possess farm experience in a similar role. You will have the passion and commitment to do a good job and take pride in the quality of your work.

    Extensive on-the-job training will be provided to enable you to perform these integral roles. You will be motivated, reliable and able to work within a small team and possess the following:

  • experience in operating modern farm machinery including large scale tractors, harvesters and spray equipment, with preference given to those with harvesting and/or spraying experience
  • good communication skills which will enable you to liaise with farm managers and harvest crews
  • strong attention to detail and have passion and pride in the quality of your work
  • basic understanding of large scale cropping.
  • To be successful in this position you will:

  • be hard working, highly reliable
  • be an Australian Resident or able to prove your right to work in Australia
  • be able to follow instructions and follow all safety and operational instructions
  • have access to reliable transport at short notice
  • able to prove your experience and provide copies of adequate licences if applying as an experienced Farm Hand
  • able to work across 7 days/nights of the week
