The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for becoming a subject-matter expert on the procurement industry, identifying business opportunities, risks, and trends, and staying updated on marketplace changes. The successful candidate will perform internal analytics and external research, then collect, organize, and present this information to stakeholders for plan development and identification of their requirements. This role will collaborate with multiple internal teams and external partners to optimize costs and ensure all signed agreements protect Best Buy’s interests.
As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you will…
Conduct internal analytics and external research to identify market and business opportunities.
Complete financial reporting on savings opportunities and pipeline
Investigate the market to source, select and recommend purchasing options and suppliers.
Participate in development of stakeholders’ plans and requirements.
Manage and analyze RFPs, according to industry standards and company policies.
Recommend solutions for best value proposition for the company, while considering all factors (including total cost of ownership).
Negotiate contracts, ensuring all contracts meet internal requirements from the Legal Department and optimize costs for the company.
Facilitate appropriate supplier agreements and take ownership for contract routing, including providing internal contract guidance and expertise as needed.
Optimize costs and drive related programs within the purchasing process.

The experience we need…
3-5 years of senior buying or finance experience within a large organization
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
Strong communication skills among clients of varying seniority levels (including executives)
Demonstrated negotiation skills, influence and business acumen
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field of study
Experience in long-term vendor or client relationship management
Experience in structuring, writing and editing legal contracts for large, complex organizations
