The Opportunity

The essential purpose of this role is to work with R&D project teams to establish strategic and structured approaches to the planning and delivery of product development documentation. This role will ensure that the creation of R&D documentation follows a consistent approach, results in reduced documentation effort where applicable, maximises document reusability across projects, reduces the duplication of information across documents and results in high quality documentation meeting the needs of relevant stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain documentation structures and information strategies

  • Develop and maintain a documentation framework defining the applicable documentation structures and the mapping of information to those structures.
  • Ensure that documentation structures result in consistency, reduction of information duplication and maximises documentation re-use across projects.
  • Act as the point of contact and liaise with relevant documentation stakeholders external to R&D where applicable (Regulatory, Quality, Marketing, Clinical).
  • Collaborate with documentation end-users to ensure the resulting documentation is effective in content, structure and accuracy.
  • Guide and support project teams to plan and deliver high quality documentation

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop project documentation plans.
  • Contribute to the creation and development of engineering design descriptive content where applicable.
  • Write high quality and high-level project documentation requiring documentation specialist expertise.
  • Merge and adapt existing documentation to establish the correct documentation framework for project teams as needed.
  • About You

    Ideally you will have:

  • A degree in science or engineering
  • Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to write high quality documentation
  • Highly organised and self-motivated
  • Experience working in a highly regulated environment e.g. medical or defence
  • Experience working on engineering documentation
