- Full-time, 1-year fixed term position based at RMIT City campus but may be required to work and/or be based at another campus of the University
- Open to candidates with research experiences in complex network systems equipped with sound knowledge in control theory and nonlinear dynamical systems
- Work with the research team for the ARC Discovery Project "Dynamics and Resilience of Complex Network Systems with Switching Topology"
- Collaborate with researchers from the Intelligent Informatics and Control Research Group in the Electrical and Biomedical Engineering Discipline of School of Engineering
- Report directly to the Associate Dean, Electrical and Biomedical Engineering with day-to-day reporting to the Project Leader Distinguished Professor Xinghuo Yu
- Remuneration at Academic Level B ($98,495 - $116,965) + 17% superannuation

About You and the Role
You will be responsible for:
- Conduct effective & efficient research individually or as part of a team, including: managing research projects within timelines and budget, conducting research and delivering the research outcomes through publications in high quality journals as lead or co-author;
- Prepare & produce competitive research grant proposals, applications and generating funding through strong linkage and effective liaison with industry and government;
- Work independently as well as collaboratively with national and international researchers in contributing to high-quality research outcomes and developing new research initiatives, as well as delivery of seminars and conference attendance;
- Contribute 10% of your time to mentor & supervise undergraduate students and participate in learning program activities appropriate to areas of expertise related to the research project.
Mandatory: PhD in a field relevant to complex network systems and its applications.
- Demonstrated excellent research track record and recognition for quality research outputs in complex network systems & applications, evidenced by publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, industry links, and supervision of higher degree by research candidates;
- Knowledge in control theory and nonlinear dynamical systems is essential;
- Experience in discontinuous dynamical systems and applications is desirable.
Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children check.
