It’s an exciting time to be a part of our Train Services team and we have a unique opportunity for you to join as a key member of the senior leadership team.
The Regional Driver Manager is responsible for the day to day leadership, supervision and support of Regional Driver Supervisors, Practical Driver Trainers, Drivers and Trainee Drivers to deliver over 2,700 safe, on-time journeys a week for our customers.
Reporting to the Head of Train Services, this role will see you leading a high calibre team of approximately 100 people across a significant geographical spread, so your exceptional team engagement capabilities will be essential.
The role is critical in delivering great outcomes through developing a culture of sustainable engagement: where team members are inspired every day to be their best, enabled to challenge the status quo and supported to create new and exciting solutions.
You will be responsible for the provision of a safe workplace where risks are proactively identified, understood, and managed and a safe environment for staff and customers is maintained.
Contribute to and lead the development of policies, procedures and work instructions as well as timely communication of relevant information
You are an exceptional leader with significant experience managing large operational teams, who will build on our success so far and unlock the next level of safety and productivity opportunities for the Train Services team.
You will have a strong focus on achieving great outcomes through the development of an engaged, capable workforce.
Experience leading large teams through change and demonstrated skill in engaging teams through enterprise agreement negotiations, will be highly regarded.
In addition to working Monday to Friday, there is a requirement of the role to be available to work additional on call hours and weekends where required to meet operational requirements.
Experience in a rail operations environment is highly desirable as are tertiary qualifications in Business, Leadership or equivalent.
Strong communication and relationship building skills along with your ability to juggle multiple projects and analyse incidents will set you up for success in this position.
