Our client, a global inspection, certification, testing and verification company, is seeking an experienced Radiation Safety Manager QLD .

Radiation Safety Manager will be responsible for the financial and operational performance of Queensland Radiation Services business, whilst creating partnerships with existing and potential clients, identifying and developing new or improved service offerings and grow the value of our customer base.

The role also requires technical and operational participation in the field and providing specialised support to operations on an as needed basis.This will include completing Gauge Audits, onsite trainings and Delivery/Pick up of equipment from site.

This position is based in Brisbane (open for discussion - could be another city in QLD) with frequent travel to mine sites. Some local and interstate travel may be required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, Motivate and Develop employees; undertaking coaching and mentoring activities.
  • Analyse and report on the business performance on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Perform Radiation Field Service Consulting duties including Surveys, Audits, Compliance Inspections and on process control instrumentation.
  • Perform Calibrations on process control instrumentation onsite.
  • Commissioning/Decommissioning of process control instrumentation
  • Reporting and compiling technical audit/inspection reports
  • Assist with the preparation and research of tender documents.
  • Assist with the review of technical procedures.
  • Coordinate prepare and Transport of Radioisotopes and containers.
  • Load and Unload Radiation Gauges in house; Including Gauge Refurbishment.
  • Inspect, wipe test and prepare source capsules for Disposal in the Hot Cell and Workshop, including all relevant administrative requirements.
  • Maintain radiation safety in house and on field sites.
  • Provide radiation and instrumentation advice onsite and in house
  • Coordinate and prepare all training courses.
  • To grow the client base through interaction with new and existing clients utilising the client services and sales teams.
  • Ensure the delivery of results and agreed services on time and with full customer satisfaction.
  • Key Requirements:

  • Radiation Gauge Licence - Compliance Testing, Gauges Industrial, Transport.
  • Be proficient in Radiation Protection, understanding policies and procedures in site auditing.
  • Be proficient understanding state and federal regulations for Radiation producing equipment across multiple disciplines.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification and experience.
