Do you excel in a fast paced, varied environment? Join MRPV and lead the engagement with Utility providers to help with our project delivery!
About The Role
As the Project Manager – Utilities, you will coordinate utilities activities within a Program which delivers multiple road projects at various stages of development and delivery. Reporting to the Program Director you will work with our project teams to provide expert advice regarding the impact of our projects on utilities services, strategise ways to reduce these impacts and work with our Contractors to facilitate timely and appropriate relocation and/or protection of utilities on our projects.
We are looking for someone with a general background in the Utilities space (this can be one speciality area, or a number of areas). It may be that you have worked in a similar role before where you were interacting with Utility Providers in an infrastructure project environment, or maybe you have worked directly for Utility providers. Whatever your experience – we want to hear from you. We're seeking someone with a strong understanding of issues and risks relating to utilities through all phases of the project life cycle and the ability to anticipate the broader potential outcomes/consequences of utility scope and delay risks on projects and implement immediate mitigating strategies to minimise those risks.
You will be negotiating, influencing and advising a variety of stakeholders so not only will you have a strong technical understanding and experience, you will need to be an excellent communicator and relationship builder too. You will have a great work ethic and thrive working in a fast-paced project environment. You can work autonomously and can use your initiative to make decisions. You don't need to know everything in this space, but you will need to have the ability to know where to go to find out the right information. You will have a strategic mindset and can identify and mitigate risks successfully – you can easily see the bigger picture and future repercussions.
The role will be based at one of our project offices in South-East Melbourne, but it is expected that you will regularly get your boots dirty from attending our project sites working with our Contractors.
A relevant qualification in an Engineering or Science related discipline is mandatory for this role.
