  • Boral Timber has an opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor to join our Kyogle Timber Mill.

    As our Production Supervisor you will report to the Site Manager and assist with managing a team of approx. 40 production and administration staff and will focus on the safe and efficient operation of the mill and its environmental impacts ensuring production targets in quality, volume, recovery, manufacturing costs and efficiency meet or exceed budget. The role will actively drive continuous improvement projects as a way of business and active involvement in LEAN manufacturing practises within the business will be a foundation element.

    The role involves all aspects of working within the management team and with production staff to deliver both tactical and strategic solutions.

    Candidates with the following skills and experience are encouraged to apply

  • A proven track record in the management and supervision of staff with a strong focus on skills development, safety and productivity;
  • Ability to develop and improve site culture through communication, leadership and personal values;
  • Ability to set, prioritise and manage operational structures;
  • Strong analytical skills, organised, process focused and excellent communication skills;
  • Experience in keeping costs under control, driving improvement, and developing an exceptional business culture;
  • Strong ability and desire to interact with all levels of management;
  • A supportive approach to customer issues (internal & external);
  • Trustworthy and honest, fair and open minded;
  • Hardwood experience is preferred, but not essential;
  • A relevant trade or degree would be an advantage.

    Boral’s Timber division employs around 500 people in its hardwood and softwood operations, located on the east coast of Australia. Timber operates 11 manufacturing sites and 6 distribution outlets. Products are sold into the structural, commercial and renovation markets and are distributed across domestic and export markets.
