Fulltime Continuing Position Geelong Waterfront Campus Level B $99,346 – $117,503 + 17% Superannuation The role Deakin’s School of Architecture is located at the Geelong Waterfront Campus in a beautiful, award-winning building and encompasses the highest standard of facilities, including computer laboratories and software, well-equipped workshop, and large studio space with 24-hour access for students and staff. Our teaching leads the world with many prize-winning and innovative lecturers who have developed teaching models specific to active learning, including e-learning support through CloudDeakin, experiential teaching strategies and collaborative problem-solving. The Faculty of Science, Engineering and Built Environment are proud of their innovative lecturers who develop teaching models specific to architecture and construction management learning. This is a full time, ongoing role and will be located at the Waterfront Campus in Geelong. Reporting to the Head of School, the Lecturer will undertake research and teaching in the area of architectural design and maintain links and partnerships with relevant academic, industry and professional communities. To be successful, you will have: PhD in a relevant discipline and/or other relevant qualifications, and demonstrable research and/or creative experience Demonstrated capacity to lead teaching teams in the area of architectural design and digital representation and fabrication Demonstrated ability of superior design and representation skills, clarity in communication and collaboration in the design studio. Experience in developing curricula, resources and bring advanced design pedagogy in design studios and lecture courses to reflect an understanding of digital representation, computation and fabrication in architecture and the built environment. Experience in integrating innovative teaching practices, cultural awareness and various specializations, including but not limited to: 3D modelling and visualization, animation, programming, parametric design, building information modelling, advanced visualisation using virtual and augmented reality and digital fabrication. Ability to contribute to the development and maintenance of partnerships with professional associations, the architecture design sector, and with domestic educational institutions and industry. Capacity to contribute to leadership of teaching, research and/or administration Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues. Successful record of research and publication in an area aligned with the school focus on “Integral Design Futures” Your key responsibilities will be to: Provide an excellent contribution to the School’s teaching, research programs and partnerships Collaborate and integrate multi-disciplinary knowledge in traditional, non-traditional and project-based research. Strong experience in learning and teaching across all levels and modes (including for example in the cloud) Contribute in the development of course and unit curriculum that meets external requirements such as the Higher Education Standards Framework and professional accreditation Enhance the quality of teaching and learning activities, including identifying and responding to opportunities to advance the discipline Designing and implementing best practice assessment and evidence of student learning outcomes at Unit and Course level. Providing leadership in teaching and learning through roles such as Course Director or Unit Chair of high enrolling courses or units.
