What will your typical day look like?
Expect to grow and be challenged as you help Australian organisations, not-for-profits and governments create value and improve the way they work to deliver services to their customers and our community. From growing our cities, exploring autonomous vehicle deployment, decarbonising industry, digitising healthcare or enabling better educational outcomes through future-focussed classrooms, we support our clients to solve complex problems and provide them with solutions to some of the toughest challenges facing our community today.
You will bring an analytical yet creative mindset to advise Government and our private sector clients on project feasibility and the design of potential options to meet their needs. You will advise Government clients on the preparation of compelling business cases to support their investment decisions, undertake cost benefit and financial analysis to assess the economic, financial and social impacts of investments, develop benefit realisation plans, and provide commercial advice on procurement strategies and delivery models.
For more senior positions, you will also have the opportunity to develop our people, help to grow our relationships with existing and new clients and increase our capability and market reach.
About the team
At Deloitte, we embrace diversity. The Infrastructure & Capital Projects (ICP) team is the perfect representation of this. We are a multidisciplinary group of professionals with qualifications in corporate finance, economics, civil engineering, public policy, facilities management, construction, law, Government strategy, project management and urban planning.
Our differences make us stronger and allow us to deliver creative solutions to our clients from government and the private sector. We also partner with our Deloitte Access Economics and Energy teams, allowing us to work across a broad spectrum of projects, meaning you’ll always find something to spark your interest. Our Perth location means we have the proximity and time zone to capture the infrastructure advisory opportunities arising out of a growing Asia Pacific region.
The breadth of our team’s expertise and knowledge has meant we have become a trusted advisor of various Government agencies who value the insight our people deliver in our mission to provide communities with dependable, high impact infrastructure and services that balances the need to deliver the taxpayer value for money.
What impact have we made?
Our work is both challenging and rewarding. We have advised on some of the largest and most significant investments in WA and Australia across a range of sectors, including transport, social services, public safety, education, mining, oil and gas, urban and precinct development, land reform, technology, arts and culture and utilities.
Examples of the impact we have made includes:
Led the development of strategic infrastructure plans at a state and trading enterprise level
Led or supported various transactions and contestability processes which range from the novel (e.g. adventure activities on Perth landmark assets), to significant asset/project transfers between government agencies, to privatisation of economic infrastructure
Advised and supported on commercialisation of activities, funding of infrastructure and projects and commercial negotiations between state entities and the private sector
Quantified the impact of some significant capital works and policy changes made by the state government
Conducted economic and financial analysis to support the development of business cases for both significant infrastructure projects (e.g. Perth’s “METRONET” program) and projects involving significant social changes (e.g. juvenile justice education)
Facilitated delivery of services by advising Government on how to strategically procure services for the community.
