SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.<div> <div style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">&nbsp;<div> <div style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">The Genetic Counsellor will work within the Hereditary Cancer Centre (HCC), providing genetic counselling and education of clients, triaging of referrals, organisation of clinics, identify area of improvement of the service, education of health professionals and the community, promotion of the HCC, and standardizing cancer genetics material for the Local Health District and NSW Cancer genetics. &nbsp;<div> <div style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;">&nbsp;<div> <div style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"><em><strong>SESLHD is committed to creating a workplace that reflects the diversity of our community. This position may extend beyond the current end date subject to funding.<em><div> <div> <div style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Arial;"> <p style="font-family: Arial"><strong>Selection Criteria:<strong><p> <ol> <li>A post graduate qualification in genetic counselling or have attained Part 1 certification Board Eligible to Undertake Certification in genetics counselling from the Human Genetics Society of Australasia<li> <li>Demonstrated extensive specialist clinical knowledge or high level broad generalist knowledge in genetic counselling with advanced reasoning and practice skills.<li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team<li> <li>Demonstrated commitment, ability to meet deadlines and high standards of performance.<li> <li>Demonstrated thorough understanding and ability to apply professional knowledge and judgement when performing complex clinical tasks, solving problems and managing cases.<li> <li>Demonstrated thorough understanding and ability to apply professional knowledge and judgement when performing complex clinical tasks, solving problems and managing cases.<li> <li>Demonstrated computer literacy with experience with MS Office, databases, presentation and pedigree drawing software.
