Position Summary

:
  • Supporting Thermo Fisher’s customers using the Life Science instruments, with a focus on sample prep, qPCR workflow (Quantstudio series), NGS and our clinical/COVID portfolio through technical support, application support, troubleshooting, workflow development and training.
  • Enhance Thermo Fisher Scientific Life Science Group (LSG) Service business and reputation by becoming the customer’s trusted advisor on LSG instruments and reagents to create long-term customer loyalty.
  • Promote LSG products as well as service and support to increase market share.
  • Responsibilities:

  • Performs product demonstrations at customer or company sites.
  • Prepares and presents seminars to wide array of audiences.
  • Delivers comprehensive technical training for customers and colleagues.
  • Collaborates with Sales Representatives to develop technical selling strategies.
  • Accompanies Sales Representatives on customer calls.
  • Provides ongoing onsite or remote technical support.
  • Takes ownership to resolve and/or escalate customer issues and complaints.
  • Drives business for the reagent, instrument, training and service teams.
  • Works in teams to drive success of large projects.
  • Plans and delivers user group meetings in house or in the field.
  • Records and reports on customer facing activities.
  • Actively participates in team meetings.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications (must have):

  • MS or PhD is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 3+ years of laboratory or related work experience.
  • Ability to solve practical problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to individuals, groups and large audiences.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • 1+ year of working with Thermo Fisher’s instruments preferred.
  • Experience in a clinical, diagnostics and/or regulated market preferred.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role and/or providing technical and scientific presentations to a variety of audiences is strongly preferred.
  • Strong qPCR experience (instrument, workflow and data analyses)
  • Strong NGS experience (instrument, workflow and data analyses)
  • Preferred Qualifications (nice to have):

    Knowledge and experience in additional applications, which could include:

  • Cell Biology Screening/Assays
  • Cell culture and analysis
  • DNA sequencing (CE and NGS)
  • Microarray technology
  • Working Conditions:

  • Mostly works in the customer’s laboratory and is based from home office or Thermo Fisher Scientific office.
  • Majority of work is conducted in the home location, though some travel is required to other states in Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific.
  • May requires after-hour/weekend customer site visit
