The EY Law team consists of experienced specialist lawyers who act for clients in a single legal capacity or as part of a formal multi-disciplinary services engagement alongside EY colleagues to produce top-quality practical solutions to our clients' challenges. We are looking for a motivated self-starter with a passion for Digital Law who thrives in a fast-paced consulting environment and can translate complex legal advice into clear, succinct and practical recommendations.

Your key responsibilities

  • Advise a prestigious client base on a wide range of Digital Law matters including privacy, technology (outsourcing, procurement, cloud, AI, IoT, blockchain etc.) intellectual property and e-commerce law issues
  • Assist in business development initiatives and develop strong connections both internally and externally to help promote and grow the Digital Law offering
  • Remain at the forefront of changes in the digital regulatory landscape to be seen as a SME in your field by clients and colleagues alike.
  • Skills and attributes for success

    To qualify for the role, you must have

  • A minimum of 3 years post-admission private practice experience in privacy, intellectual property and/or technology law. Experience in financial services regulatory advice would be an advantage 
  • Excellent academics, strong technical drafting and communication skills for your level and a commitment to exceptional client service at all times to our local and international client base
  • A resilient, motivated self-starter mindset with the ability to build and maintain enduring relationships with peers, clients and stakeholders both within EY and externally to help grow the Digital Law offering
  • Ability to help manage engagements to time and budget across multiple projects in a fast-paced, varied and stimulating environment.
  • Ideally, you’ll also have

  • A genuine passion for all things digital and tech-related and a desire to keep up with related legal issues in this fast-changing area
  • Australian practising certificate and/or right to work in Australia
