Founded in 1881 by the Marist Brothers, St Joseph’s College is a boarding and day secondary boys school, whose Catholic identity is shaped by Marist spirituality and traditions. Governed by Marist Schools Australia, the College enrolment is approximately 1,100 students.

 

About the Role

 

Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Development Manager is responsible for the fundraising and philanthropic endeavours of the College.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of stakeholder management, outstanding customer service, efficient management of financial data, and an energetic, motivating leadership style.

 

Annual key performance indicators will be agreed for this role on donor relations, philanthropic income, annual giving participation rates, donor retention and donor satisfaction.

 

A high level of confidentiality and discretion is required in all aspects of this role.

 

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fundraising experience, ideally in an educational setting
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification in a relevant area of study
  • Management and leadership experience
  • Stakeholder management experience
  • Negotiation, conflict management and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with and sound understanding of educational philanthropy
