    About the role:

    Based at our Artarmon Concrete Plant you will be batching concrete whilst ensuring a smooth running of the concrete plant whilst you ensure that cost effective concrete is produced both safely and sustainably.

    Reporting to the Area Operations Manager, and whilst you Supervisor the site you will be accountable for ensuring the mixing, inspection and delivery of premixed concrete is carried out in a manner which promotes quality and reliability.

    Additional to Batching & driving an Agi Truck the successful applicant will be required to multi skill and achieve competency as an Operator Technician of volumetric concrete mixers.

    A volumetric concrete mixer is a mixer mounted on a truck that contains separate compartments for sand, stone, cement and water with materials mixed on the job site to the exact requirements of the customer. The mixer has the ability to work from other western suburbs plants when required.

  • Duties and responsibilities:

  • Batching concrete using multiple computer systems
  • Allocating and assigning loads to drivers
  • Dealing with customer and supplier enquiries
  • Yard work duties as required & Driving a front end loader
  • Review of daily concrete orders and deliveries
  • Order raw materials to meet daily production requirements and ensure stock levels are maintained.
  • Carry out routine maintenance on the plant and equipment as required
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping on the site
  • Driving mobile mixer from yards to various sites when required
  • Slump concrete to correct specification
  • Utilising computer systems to batch and deliver products when required
  • Ability to understand scheduling and maximising service 
  • Ensuring a high level of customer service throughout the process
  • Administer relevant documentation and dockets
  • Be available for shift work when required
  • Delivering Concrete to our customer
  • Daily cleaning of the Agitator Truck
  • Operating the vehicle in a safe manner & comply with safety policies and have a strong safety awareness
  • Daily Pre start checks vehicle
  • Loading and Unloading of Concrete
  • Operate in accordance with traffic regulations both on and off the road
  • About you:

  • Willingness to deliver results for all stakeholders that exceed expectations
  • Able to work as part of a small team to ensure success
  • Driver's license essential with front end loader or forklift competency an advantage
  • Construction White Card
  • Experience using Command Batch system / SAP and Google very beneficial
  • Organised with a strong customer service and people skills
  • Ability to learn technical aspects of concrete and raw materials
  • Ability to understand and operate on board computer and ticketing systems
  • Strong commitment to safety, health and environmental responsibilities
  • Previous experience in concrete industry is advantageous
  • Experience driving heavy rigid trucks preferably in a built up environment
  • Deliver product in a timely manner to site by the most appropriate legally allowable route to meet customer expectations
  • Strong commitment to safety, health & environmental responsibilities
  • HR (Heavy Rigid) license is essential
  • Front end loader ticket would be very beneficial
  • Customer service focus & Strong communication skills
