The Role

This is a unique opportunity for candidates with corporate secretarial knowledge or experience to work closely with our Sydney Corporate Advisory team. You will be joining a busy and rapidly growing practice that includes several practitioners from large global firms. You will enjoy a high degree of autonomy and direct client contact as appropriate. 

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing company secretarial support to corporate clients and assist them discharge their obligations under Australia’s regulatory framework. Support will be provided by a team of senior and junior lawyers, including a responsible partner, who will assist with the preparation of advice and documentation.

This role will be responsible for:

  • managing client relationships
  • working with team members 
  • managing workflows, tracking deadlines and delegating tasks
  • advising on, and providing support with, compliance with regulatory requirements
  • preparing corporate health checks for companies
  • drafting and reviewing internal company documents
  • the incorporation of entities
  • record management
  • governance policy drafting and review
  • implementing new regulatory governance requirements
  • preparing client bills and engagement letters

    Who We Are Looking For

    We are interested in candidates with either private practice or in-house legal experience or paralegal or company secretary experience. The successful applicant will understand regulatory procedural requirements affecting Australian companies and company secretarial procedures and issues. You will have strong commercial acumen and the ability to offer excellent client service. You will have the ability to build effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
