About the Role
The role will involve management of litigation, advising on statutory obligations on a range of regulatory-focused matters, and assisting with general commercial law matters. You will work in a supportive in-house team environment dealing closely with all areas and levels of the organisation.
To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of 3 PQE. Experience in advising on court processes and statutory obligations (such as responding to subpoenas, regulatory notices, and breach reporting) will be highly regarded.
As a lawyer in our Office of General Counsel your impact will be seen by:
Assisting with the management of actual and threatened litigation and advising on potentially contentious and regulatory matters involving the organisation
Advising on statutory obligations and assisting with enquiries and communications with regulatory authorities
Assisting with the review, legal analysis and preparation of advice on a variety of client engagements and supplier agreements, working closely with the organisation’s risk and compliance teams
Providing focused and pragmatic solutions to address legal risk and business problems
As a successful candidate, you will have:
Experience working within teams of lawyers, supporting and consulting senior lawyers
Experience and confidence in dealing with and assisting senior management (both in written and verbal communications), including an ability to draft clear and precise legal documents and communication;
Strong technical and corporate law knowledge;
Excellent interpersonal and commercial skills, as well as an ability to build relationships and influence with impact;
Identify and consider critical and key issues, assess and articulate legal risks (including likelihood and impact) so the business can make informed, risk-based commercial decisions; and
Prioritise tasks and manage workflow expectations in line with business requirements.
