The Role

The purpose of the role is to deliver a sustained high level of service to insured customers and property managers across the range of landlord insurance products. Responsibility for reviewing and processing claims including liaising closely with customers, assessing loss and determining claims settlement including declinature within defined authority levels and legislated time frames.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adopt a customer focus in the delivery of internal/external Services
  • Build, enhance and maintain quality relationships with all internal and external customers
  • Alignment of Team objectives to ensure effective delivery of our customer proposition
  • Drive and maximise productivity, at both individual and team level
  • Demonstrate Terri Scheer Insurance values of Nurturing and Valuing Customer Relationships; Respect for the Individual; Courage; Integrity and Passion
  • Monitoring of individual workflow to ensure all claims are processed within Code of Practice guidelines
  • Ensure claim settlements are calculated against the terms and conditions of the policy wording
  • Ensure timely and accurate reserves
  • Utilise Group Suppliers where appropriate to avoid leakage
  • Ensure recovery can be pursued wherever applicable
  • Take responsibility for individual personal development plans and professional learning goals
  • Skills & Experience

  • At least 2 years experiencing in processing property claims (desirable but not essential)
  • Property management experience would be desirable
  • Strong team player with a proven track record of providing excellent customer service
  • Resilient and able to effectively manage difficult situations
  • General insurance knowledge and the ability to interpret intent of policy wordings
  • Knowledge and understanding of compliance requirements
  • Willing to work rostered hours to cover hours of operation in each state of Australia
  • Communication Skills – ability to convey and explain information, effectively, coherently, professionally and confidently both verbally and in writing
  • Adaptable and responsive to a continuously changing environment
  • Knowledge of the principles of insurance, including principles of the General Insurance Code of Practice and the Insurance Contracts Act
  • Understanding of the Residential Tenancies Acts
