Due to increased opportunities and exciting projects, Arup is currently seeking a multi-disciplinary Building Services BIM Technician/Modellers within Australasia Buildings group helping deliver high quality Building Information Modelling (BIM) models, data and documentation.

We are accepting applications in Melbourne, but also in Sydney and may be open to Brisbane.

About you

With great visual and spatial skills and strong communication, you’ll be a natural collaborator and integrator. You’ll build good relationships and establish solid lines of communication with technical staff, fellow modellers, modellers managers and modelling leaders within local office and across the region. You will also bring:

  • Relevant industry engineering and coordination experience (at least 2-3 years) in modelling/drafting within a consulting business or contactor environment;
  • Experience and knowledge in modelling applications such as Revit MEP and interest in keeping up to date with current industry information, knowledge and skills.

  • Ideally, you may also bring interest and/or developing skills in:

  • OpenBIM workflows use of IFC and BCF collaboration including use of Solibri, Revizto, BIMCollab or similar;
  • Virtual Design Review process and ability to utilise applications such as Navisworks, Solibri;
  • Use of cloud work-sharing such as BIM360;
  • Use of technology related to mixed reality, augmented, or virtual reality;
  • Use of emerging digital tools, workflows and automation.
  • About the role

    In this highly collaborative role, you’ll be an integral part of our Buildings team, providing Revit Technical Management Skills relating to the Modelling team and working on large scale and high-impact projects. You will be working with both Modellers and Engineers working in the Virtual Design Environment. Specifically, you will:

  • Undertake drawing production and modelling activities for the Building Services team;
  • Provide modelling and coordination input on such projects, both in the design and construction phases;
  • Collaborate on similar projects undertaken by other Arup offices within the Australasia region where engineering modelling resources are not available in the form of work-sharing.
  • Submit high quality work that is accurate and meets quality standards set out by the Arup regional quality team.
  • Produce drawings, models and co-ordination reports from templates in a on organised and efficient manner defined regionally and globally.
  • You will facilitate the coordination on such projects and undertake virtual design reviews to detect and address coordination issues in the model.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to CDE standards, setting up a Common Data Environment for the discipline if no overall CDE is set up for the project
