Hi, I’m Nick Moore, Manager of Customer Success Engineering at Puppet!
I’m looking for an Associate Customer Success Engineer (CSE) to join the APAC Customer Success team and work alongside the best DevOps Engineers in the industry. The CSE position is a highly technical role, responsible for providing guidance, training and consulting on client-facing projects leveraging Puppet Solutions. The CSE also contributes to the selling, design, and implementation of our solutions.
I am looking for bright, technically-minded computer science postgraduates or equivalent knowledge, who are looking to start their technical career with the leader in the DevOps and automation IT space. No previous work experience is required. Puppet will provide a technical mentor and a structured training program to fast track successful candidates. This role when successfully complete, may lead to a job within the Professional Services Engineer (PSE) job family within Puppet Professional Services.
As part of our APAC practice, the CSE participates in service delivery activities on engagements for our customers, and with partners within the region. You will help our customers to succeed by helping them to transform their IT automation and business.
Meaningful work you’ll contribute
Delivery and Training
Delivery of Custom and Packaged Services within the Puppet Services Portfolio
Delivery of customer-facing training on Puppet technology, either at Puppet onsite training facilities or at customer sites.
Delivery of Automation Blueprints via Design and Architecture workshops aligned to business outcomes
Work in conjunction with Engineering and Support to solve complex solutions during project delivery where needed
Strategic clients may include time as a resident consultant for long term consulting engagements within strategic accounts
Provide thought leadership and ensure that customer engagements are aligned to Puppet Implementation Best Practices
Resolve critical path technical issues on projects with engineering and support when needed
Research & Skills Development
Maintain expert knowledge of Puppet Services Portfolio and products
Maintain current knowledge via internal webinars, case study, training, Wiki and all other resources
Perform research into technology partners or other vendor solutions in the context of client requirements for integration.
Collaborate with Puppet Product Engineer programs, Sales, PS Operations providing points of view and documentation as needed
A Postgraduate in Computer Science or have equivalent knowledge gained elsewhere.
Solid verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to varying stakeholder levels
An understanding and exposure to some of the key technologies relevant to the Puppet solutions including:
Programming skills (Ruby, Python, Perl, etc.)
Unix &/or Linux SysAdmin, including automation
Windows administration experience, including Microsoft PowerShell
Experience or appreciation of with some of the following technologies
git-based version control
Public and Private Clouds (AWS, Azure, Openstack, VMware)
Continuous Integration (Jenkins, Bamboo, or others)
The ability to handle and overcome objections in both a pre-sales and project delivery
The ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training
The ability to work in an international, fast-growing environment
The ability to travel up to customer locations as required
