Newly created role with impact and influenceGreat career opportunity for someone heading towards a Head of or CTO roleContract initially - convert to perm after 3-6 months Exciting, newly created opportunity for a passionate, tech savvy architecture manager to drive excellence across architecture.Following a restructure in the technology team to align architecture more effectively with the broader technology teams, this is a newly created and pivotal role.The Architecture Manager will report to the Head of Governance and will perform a critical role in ensuring the delivery of outcomes in line with the expectations and requirements of the business and the executive team.The role will be responsible for running the architecture review board, will provide regular status reports internally and to the architecture council of the regulatory body, and will sign off all key architectural decisions, providing endorsement at the ARB.This role does not manage the architecture team from a line perspective (it has one direct report currently) so would suit someone who prefers to guide, influence and provide value in a matrix model, or who is happy to step away from people leadership for the career opportunity that this provides in other areas.To be successful in this role, you will require: A strong enterprise architecture background, with technical breadth and depth (with a preference for depth of knowledge across infrastructure and networking)A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach to architectureExperience in a complex, transformational IT environmentComfort in navigating ambiguity and changeExperience and interest in providing governance and overseeing a complex, multi-domain architecture groupExperience leading architecture review boardsExposure to, and an understanding of the importance of, critical systemsAn appreciation for the long-term impacts of architectural decisions, with both successes and battle scars under your belt!Exceptional communication and soft skills with the ability to build strong relationships, not be afraid to deliver bad news and push back when required for the long-term benefit of the organisationEnergy, passion and drive!
